Tim Altman is the founder and head coach of We Paddle. He has paddled for over 30 years in surf lifesaving, flatwater kayak paddling and ocean paddling and has coached for over 15 of those years. Over that time as a paddler and coach he has experienced paddling at all levels from beginner to elite international levels and has travelled to many parts of the world as a result of his paddling.

As a paddler Tim has won state and national in kayaking and surf lifesaving, represented Australia at World kayak championships and, more recently, has twice finished in the top 10 overall at the prestigious and world famous Molokai to Oahu World Surfski Championships.

Over recent years, Tim has also turned his attention to paddle travel, be it purely adventure paddling or associated with races around the world. In combination with paddler and travel/event management expert Kim Vaughan, We Paddle Travel was born and has begin to offer events in Australia and internationally – including Tasmania, Perth, Palawan Island in The Philippines, Hawaii, South Africa and soon to be in Antarctica.

Tim is also a qualified naturopath, respiratory therapist and Mickel Therapist and has an avid interest in yoga, meditation and the application of natural health interventions in paddling and sporting performance.

Tim is an avid writer and has had many articles on paddling, nutrition, health and wellbeing published in a number of magazines and websites over the years.
